The Zoo

Right after school started Mike's mom took us to the zoo to see the new Polar Bear exhibit.  Well the polar bear was a dud! I've seen all these pictures of him playing, and swimming and being active. Well, he just sat in the mud and glared at us.  However, we did have an awesome time watching the Grizzlies feed.  We watched as the workers went around placing fish, fruits and veggies throughout their enclosure.  Then they let the bears out and it was a mad dash to the find all the fish.  Then they walked around and after they were sure there was no more fish they started eating certain fruits - bananas and strawberries first, then the oranges, and last the kiwi's.  Then they walked around again and when they were sure there were no more fruits they ate the veggies - it was funny how alike me they were!

It was so bright and warm the day we went, the kids had a hard time looking at the camera.

Daisy, Grace & Max

As the big kids were riding the carousel with grandma this peacock strolled right in front of me.
They also told us that the train would be closing down and now that the Rocky Shores exhibit is open they are closing the giraffe's and building a new African Savannah.  They will bring new zebra's and other African animals, I'm hoping they bring hippos back.  But it's not scheduled to open until 2014!  For the life of me I don't know what takes so long to build these things - they really need Zoo Makeover, they could have it done in 7 days.
